Jochen Mass & Gerry Birrell – Ford Köln – Spa 24 Hours 1971

A superb candid photograph of Jochen Mass and Gerry Birrell together at the 1971 Spa 24 Hours at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium.The two drivers shared the Ford Köln Ford Capri RS2600 #21 in the European Touring Car Championship event. They qualified seventh with a time of 4:17.7, but their challenge ended with retirement due to camshaft trouble.Mass and Birrell were part of Ford's formidable works touring-car effort at Spa.
