Now this is interesting because it Korean style is almost a misnomer. It is quite obvious as you walk the streets that the majority of the population are dressing quite conservatively in dark colours but if you look closer nearly every outfit is stylishly cut and well fitting and importantly layered. Hats and bags also give the wearer more dynamics. To visit the massive garment markets or superstores is to me was quite monotonous. With very little colour and seeming endless aisles of similar offerings you really do need to be in the right mindset!

The less conservative youngsters are influenced by both K-Pop and Street culture. As with all fashion only a few ingredients can add up to countless individual looks. A Baseball Cap and a stylish blouse, maybe a pair off work slacks and basketball shirt but the key to understanding a little more about the Korean fashion is how you combine with your cosmetic look or your plastic surgery. If you have a beached white face maybe or larger breasts the clothes are accessories to your look. The body is as important as the clothing in South Korea. I will just nip out on a Saturday and buy a new face!  

Animations And Characters

Just like in Japan animated characters and cartoons do feature in daily life but they are just a little more low key. The warning signs and public information cartoons have just a little less humour in them. But in retail outlets there is some quite clever humour. The underlying jokes seem far more intelligent and often more western. The Koreans seem much more fond of giant soft characters than the small ones in Japan. There are the same wonderful fun plush shops but you get the impression they have eaten a lot more!

Korean Cars:

Wow this was a shock seeing 95% just home built cars from Kia and Hyundai. And their models were so much better than what is offered in the UK. The South Koreans certainly support their home grown industry. There is a new Marque from Hyundai called Genesis which is a fairly expensive option rather like a European Audi or BMW. Unless I had visited I would never have believed how big and successful these companies were. In Europe with have often joked about the quality of their cars but I think they will soon be a much more respected brands soon!

Korean Writing: Although a character language like all Asian languages the symbols all seem a lot less complicated. It is certainly quite distinctive compared to other places we have visited
